Recognising Courage. Honouring Everyday Heroes.

Each year, the Royal Life Saving WA Bravery Awards celebrate the incredible actions of everyday people who step up in moments of crisis to save lives. Whether it’s performing a rescue, administering CPR, or stepping in during a critical emergency — these awards shine a light on those who embody bravery, skill, and selflessness.

Community Bravery Award

Recognises members of the public — including both adults and children — who have stepped in to assist during an emergency. This category also includes trained professionals who responded to an incident while off duty.

Professional Bravery Award

Awarded to individuals who responded to incidents during their work for which they are trained but are not part of their day-to-day duties. This may include aquatic centre staff, police officers, and others in similar roles.

Nominate a Local Hero

Do you know someone who deserves recognition for a brave act?

Nominations are open year-round and can be submitted by anyone with information about the incident. Award recipients come from all walks of life — swimmers, lifeguards, bystanders, family members, workmates, or friends.

Whether the act occurred at a beach, pool, river, lake, or even in the home — if someone demonstrated courage and helped save a life, we want to hear about it.

All nominations will be assessed by the Royal Life Saving WA Awards Committee
