Water Safety Talks with ISWA community

Royal Life Saving WA recently took part in a Health Seminar hosted at Jalaram Temple, engaging with the Indian Society of Western Australia (ISWA) community to promote water safety awareness.

Held on 18 May 2025, the expo provided an opportunity for staff to deliver a water safety talk tailored to the needs and experiences of the Indian community. With around 150 attendees, the event focused on helping families understand how to stay safe around water and the value of swimming skills at all ages.

Water safety education is a key priority for Royal Life Saving WA, particularly within communities that may face barriers to accessing formal swimming programs. By participating in community-led events, the organisation can connect directly with people and provide information in ways that are meaningful and accessible.A woman kneels on a stage holding out a pool noodle, demonstrating a reach rescue

One attendee shared that she found the presentation informative and left the session with a stronger understanding of water safety and the steps she could take to keep her family safe.

Royal Life Saving WA thanks the Indian Society of Western Australia for the opportunity to be part of the day and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for supporting this important outreach work.
