INPEX Perfect Day fundraiser helping WA kids learn to Swim and Survive

Royal Life Saving WA is proud to have been selected as a charity partner for INPEX’s ‘Perfect Day’ safety incentive campaign, with funds raised helping to make a real difference in providing essential swimming and water safety skills to all West Australians.

Throughout August, INPEX conducted a major maintenance shutdown across its Ichthys LNG offshore and onshore facilities. During this time, the company launched the Perfect Day program — a workplace safety initiative recognising teams for maintaining safe and efficient operations. For every ‘Perfect Day’ achieved, INPEX pledged to donate $500 to selected charities.

Thanks to the dedication of INPEX staff and their outstanding safety performance, Royal Life Saving WA was chosen as one of the charity partners for the offshore facility teams.

Funds raised through the Perfect Day campaign will support the Royal Life Saving WA Swim and Survive Fund. The program helps provide vital swimming and water safety lessons for children who might otherwise miss out due to financial, cultural, or geographical barriers.

Royal Life Saving WA CEO Peter Leaversuch said the generous support from INPEX will make a lasting difference to the lives of WA children.

“Teaching children to swim is one of the most important investments we can make as a community to prevent drowning,” he said.

“The generous donation from INPEX will help us deliver tailored swimming and water safety programs in regional areas, particularly the Kimberley, where we’re working to ensure Aboriginal children have access to swimming lessons and young people can gain qualifications that open employment pathways in the aquatics industry.”

Peter also thanked INPEX employee and Royal Life Saving member Craig Ashworth, who nominated the organisation for the Perfect Day fundraiser.

“Craig and his family are valued members of the lifesaving community, and we’re deeply grateful for his nomination and the support of everyone at INPEX,” he said.

At Royal Life Saving WA, community safety is at the heart of everything we do. Each year, the Swim and Survive Fund helps more children across Western Australia learn essential swimming and water safety skills — reducing drowning risks and empowering them to be safe and confident around water.

Royal Life Saving WA is proud to work alongside INPEX, whose values of safety, integrity, diversity, ingenuity, and collaboration closely align with our own commitment to care, courage, community, and collaboration. Together, we’re helping every child love the water safely.
