Members recognised at 116th AGM

Royal Life Saving WA’s 116th Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 23 October 2025 celebrated the ongoing work and commitment of our members and partners who continue to make Western Australia safer around water.

The meeting and motions were led by Board President, Vaughan Davies, who acknowledged the collective efforts of members, volunteers and partners in advancing Royal Life Saving WA’s mission to prevent drowning.

The membership also heard the presentation of the Annual Report by Chief Executive Officer Peter Leaversuch, highlighting achievements in community education, training, and drowning prevention across the state. The Financial Report was presented by Senior Manager of Corporate Services, Kirstie Beveridge, outlining the organisation’s continued financial stability and responsible management.

The event was attended by 51 members in person and 14 online, with 22 apologies and 9 pre-votes received.

The Annual General Meeting also offers an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of Royal Life Saving WA over the previous year. These accomplishments are made possible by the dedication of individuals across our community who work every day to keep Western Australians safe around water through training and education. The following guests were recognised for their exceptional service and contributions.

Grace Bailey received a Certificate of Thanks for two years of service as a Royal Life Saving Trainer. Grace has demonstrated outstanding professionalism and care, supporting candidates with empathy and helping to foster confidence and resilience.

Adrianna Foss was awarded the WA Associate Award for five years of service. Adrianna has been a key figure in the Bruce Rock community, delivering Bronze Medallion, CPR and First Aid courses while promoting accessible training opportunities in regional Western Australia.

Sophie Sindall, General Manager at Waterponyz Swim School, received the WA Fellow Award for ten years of service. Through her leadership and advocacy for inclusion, Sophie has helped ensure multicultural communities have access to quality swimming education across multiple venues.

Lee Duffy received the WA Companion Award for fifteen years of service. As Swim School Team Leader at Wanneroo Aquamotion, Lee has contributed significantly to training and professional development within the aquatic industry, inspiring both staff and young swimmers.

Kaysha Gardner was presented with the WA Companion Award for fifteen years of service. Kaysha’s dedication spans multiple regions including Cannington, Albany, and Midland, where she has helped establish Junior Lifeguard Clubs and supported the delivery of key Royal Life Saving programs.

Alicia Coppin received the WA Companion Award for fifteen years of service. Alicia is recognised for her commitment to excellence as a Trainer and Assessor, ensuring high standards in swimming teacher education and course delivery.

Board President Vaughan Davies closed the meeting by thanking all members and award recipients for their continued dedication to saving lives and strengthening communities.
