WA State Team Announced for APLSC 2026
Royal Life Saving WA is pleased to announce the Western Australian team selected to compete at the 2026 Australian Pool Lifesaving Championships.
The competition will be held from Thursday 25 June to Saturday 27 June 2026 at the Perth High Performance Centre in Western Australia. With the national competition taking place on home soil, the WA team will have the rare opportunity to compete in front of family, friends, supporters and the broader WA lifesaving community.
Head Coach Rebecca Hartman has been reappointed after leading WA to two successive national titles. Bec brings strong leadership and a wealth of technical knowledge as she guides the team through preparation ahead of the championships.
“We are very excited to compete at home for the APLSC in front of family and friends and to defend the overall title. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to showcase lifesaving in WA,” Bec said.
Joining her are Adam Moore and Sarah Hynes, who are acting as Team Managers. They will play a vital role in supporting athletes and coaches, coordinating logistics and ensuring the team is well prepared throughout the championships.
Jake Smith has been re-named Team Captain, bringing proven experience and the respect of his teammates as he helps guide WA through its APLSC campaign.
The 2026 event will also showcase the next generation of WA lifesavers, with a Development Team of U14 athletes selected to compete alongside the State Team. For many, it will be their first APLSC experience, giving them the chance to step into national competition for the first time here in Western Australia.
