Watch Around Water is an education and awareness campaign run at public swimming pools that aims to reduce drowning and aquatic injuries amongst children through improved parental supervision.

To support the safety and wellbeing of staff working in aquatic facilities, Royal Life Saving Australia has launched the ‘Keep Your Cool at the Pool’ campaign, which sets clear behavioural expectations for patrons and calls for users of aquatic facilities to treat each other and staff respectfully.

The annual Pool Lifeguard Challenge provides pool lifeguards and aquatic staff with an opportunity to practice essential lifesaving skills in a fun, challenging and team-based format.

Royal Life Saving have maintained and developed the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operation (the GSPO) since 1992. The GSPO is a set of detailed specifications and recommendations establishing best practice design and operations of aquatic locations nationwide.
