From school sessions to summer events, our youth-focused water safety education is all about connection, conversation, and prevention. We’re taking water safety beyond the pool gates—with engaging presentations, promotional campaigns, and free resources for schools and community groups that empower young people to recognise risks, make smart decisions, and look out for their mates.
Whether you're planning an event, running a school program, or just want to start a conversation that matters, we’ve got tools, tips, and Mermate energy to help you make a real impact.
Mermate Presentations
Our Be a Mermate presentations are designed to connect with young people and empower them with lifesaving water safety knowledge. Delivered in schools and community settings, these engaging sessions provide practical tools to help young people look out for themselves and their mates in and around water.
Sessions last 30–60 minutes and cover key water safety messages, smart swimming tips, and emergency response. We also offer Leaver’s presentations for Year 12 students which include extra information on what to expect at Leavers events.
Events and Expos
We connect with young people across WA by attending high school expos, youth events, and community festivals to share important water safety messages. Through interactive activities, real-life stories, and practical advice, we help young people make safer choices around water—whether they're at the beach, river, or pool.
If you’re hosting a youth, education, or safety-focused event, we’d love to get involved. We offer fun resources, take-home materials, and passionate presenters to share the Be a Mermate message and empower young people to stay safe in and around water.
Together, we’re building a generation that looks out for their mates and knows how to stay safe around water.
