Gascoyne
Burringurrah, in the Gascoyne, was the first pool established under the Remote Pools program.

The Gascoyne region is home to Burringurrah, a small but culturally significant Aboriginal community located near the majestic Mount Augustus. Inhabited by the Wajarri Yamatji people, Burringurrah holds a special place in the history of Royal Life Saving’s Remote Pools program as the site of the very first pool, established in 1999. Since then, the community pool has served as a cornerstone for promoting health, safety, and social connection — setting the foundation for a program that now reaches communities across Western Australia.
