Community Education
Empowering young people through education, events, and resources to make smart choices around water and look out for their mates.

From school sessions to summer events, our youth-focused water safety education is all about connection, conversation, and prevention. We’re taking water safety beyond the pool gates—with engaging presentations, promotional campaigns, and free resources for schools and community groups that empower young people to recognise risks, make smart decisions, and look out for their mates.

Whether you're planning an event, running a school program, or just want to start a conversation that matters, we’ve got tools, tips, and Mermate energy to help you make a real impact.

Resources for Schools

Our Be a Mermate education package, designed for Year 9-12 students, equips students with the knowledge to make smart choices, speak up and always look out for their mates in and around water.

The Western Australian curriculum-linked resources delve into key concepts that resonate with teens: risky situations, peer influence and responsible decision-making. Learn more about the FREE resource pack at the link below.

Events and Expos

We connect with young people across WA by attending high school expos, youth events, and community festivals to share important water safety messages. Through interactive activities, real-life stories, and practical advice, we help young people make safer choices around water—whether they're at the beach, river, or pool.

If you’re hosting a youth, education, or safety-focused event, we’d love to get involved. We offer fun resources, take-home materials, and passionate presenters to share the Be a Mermate message and empower young people to stay safe in and around water.

Together, we’re building a generation that looks out for their mates and knows how to stay safe around water.
