2.1.1 Achievement Recognition

ACHIEVEMENT RECOGNITION

Level Certificates

Each level of the Swim and Survive program has a certificate to acknowledge the achievement of successfully completing each of the learning outcomes within a level.

The certificates are designed to be attractive to students as well as informative for parents and carers to understand the learning outcomes achieved and the pathway of progression for Swim and Survive.  The Level of the certificate is clear in the coloured badge in the top right corner.

On the front side of the certificate, you’ll find space for the student’s name, location and date, as well as an illustration. For the Little Wonder levels the illustrations are beautiful and fun Australian fauna ready for swimming action. For levels 01 to 11, the illustrations depict skills and knowledge that are the focus of each level. On all the certificates there are also words of encouragement. The level of the certificate is indicated in the top right colour by a level badge.

The reverse side of the certificate outlines the learning outcomes for the level as well as the pathway of progression through the program. This communicates where the student is within the pathway with the level badge bolded and the levels to be achieved through continued participation. The QR code when scanned will take students to the Swim and Survive Knowledge Modules website where they can learn more about water safety by exploring the online modules.

Encouragement Certificate

The ‘Swim Star’ certificate is an encouragement award which enables swim teachers to acknowledge the achievements of students who may not have demonstrated all the competencies to progress to the next level, however they may have achieved a personal goal or shown determination or effort.

Overprint Template and Instructions

The overprint template and instructions on how to print onto the certificates is useful when large numbers of certificates are being issued. The template has been set up so that the student’s name, the location and date of achievement can be overprinted onto the certificate in the line space. It’s important to read and follow the instructions for the best print outcome but note this may be dependent on the type of printer and the quantity.
