Royal Life Saving WA is pleased to present the Disability Steering Committee, a standalone Committee dedicated to providing strategic guidance, oversight, and advocacy to ensure that water safety education programs are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of people with disabilities across all ages and abilities.
The Committee will support people with disabilities through adaptive training and accessible facilities by:
- Advising on the inclusive design and delivery of water safety education materials and programs
- Promoting the safe participation of people with disabilities in water safety activities and aquatic environments
- Advocating for systemic improvements in accessibility and inclusion within water safety education
- Fostering partnerships with disability organisations, aquatic centres, educators and community stakeholders
- Monitoring and evaluating progress toward inclusive water safety outcomes
Disability Steering Committee - Meeting Registration
The first meeting of the Disability Steering Committee will be Wednesday 29th of April 2026.
The meeting will be held from 10am - 12noon WAIS - Western Australia Institute of Sport, 10 McGillivray Rd, Mount Claremont.
