Parent stories

Many parents have shared their stories of toddler drowning with us. These stories span the possible outcomes of drowning. A lucky near-miss. A life-changing brain injury. The tragic loss of lives. It’s a privilege to have these parents volunteering their time and energy in the hope of preventing other parents from having the same experiences.

If your family has experienced a toddler drowning or ‘near-miss’ and would be willing to share your story, please get in touch with the Royal Life Saving Society WA. Our parent ambassadors have told us that being involved with the Keep Watch program has been rewarding as they feel like their stories are making a difference to the lives of other families and potentially preventing future tragedies.
