HOW TO IMPLEMENT SWIM AND SURVIVE
Here are some steps to follow to help you implement Swim and Survive at your facility.
Step 1 – Consult |
The Swim and Survive Team in your State/Territory Royal Life Saving office are there to help you! They will be able to guide you in implementing Swim and Survive, answer your questions and provide you with the resources you need. |

Use the resources provided to assist you. Key resources to start with are:
|
Step 3 – Plan |
Planning ahead and mapping out how your Swim School will implement Swim and Survive will help you in the long run and make the transition easy. This should include the timeframe and start date to switching over. If you are a current Partner, you will need to map out switching the old levels to the new levels and any adjustments to your offering you need to make. If you are a new Partner, you will need to map out how your previous program aligns to the Swim and Survive curriculum and levels. |
Step 4 – Update |
Make a list of all the items that you need to update to help the implementation process. This may include updating:
|
Step 5 – Purchase |
It’s a good idea to purchase items ahead of time so that you have any stock required on hand ready to distribute. We have a number of items available for purchase including certificates, rash vests and promotional resources. Items should be purchased directly with your local State/Territory office. |
Step 6 – Train |
Train all your staff (teachers, customer service and on-deck supervisors) to make sure they are up to date and onboard with the new curriculum, levels and pathway and have access to the resources they need. |
Step 7 – Inform |
Let your customers know about the changes to your program and provide information about changes to their child/ren’s level. Promote the benefits of Swim and Survive and your Partnership with Royal Life Saving. |
