Who is this course for?
This qualification is suited to people looking to start a career in the sport, aquatic or recreation industry. This may include new entrants to the workforce and people looking for a pathway into higher-level qualifications or future roles within the industry.
Delivered through a traineeship pathway, it combines structured training with practical, on-the-job experience.
How is the training delivered?
Students progress through a structured learning plan that introduces course content in a planned sequence. Training combines online learning, workplace-based learning and assessment, scheduled training and regular support from a dedicated trainer.
The trainer works with the student and workplace supervisor throughout the traineeship to monitor progress, provide support and ensure students have opportunities to develop and apply their skills in the workplace.
Some units also include scheduled face-to-face training and assessment with us.
Course Structure

The selection of elective units will meet the qualification packaging requirements and be guided by the student's job role and workplace training needs.
Assessment
Assessment is completed progressively throughout the traineeship and includes online, practical and workplace-based assessment activities.
Traineeship Requirements
Students undertaking this qualification with us must be employed in an appropriate sport, aquatic or recreation workplace and have a registered training contract.
The training contract establishes the formal traineeship arrangement between the trainee and employer and identifies the qualification and training arrangements. Training contracts in Western Australia are registered and administered through the Department of Training and Workforce Development's Apprenticeship Office.
Support throughout your traineeship
Each student is allocated a dedicated trainer who will provide support throughout their traineeship. The trainer will help the student become familiar with the eLearning portal and course resources, establish achievable study goals and monitor their progress.
