Welcome to Water Smart Level 2 – Years 1 and 2

Here you will find all the resources to assist you to teach a unit of water safety to students in Years 1 and 2 (typically 6-8 years).

UNIT OF WORK

This unit of water safety is a comprehensive resource which can be taught in its entirety or as separate strands. Unit objectives, safety tips, activity descriptors and further resources are provide to guide the teacher.

TEACHER NOTES

Use these teacher notes to help you teach your students all about water safety. These supplementary notes provide background information to dangers in aquatic environments and activities that are often the cause of drowning incidents and tips for keeping safe.
